Reflexology is a form of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) dating back thousands of years. It works on the principle that there are reflexes in the feet and hands that correspond to all organs, systems, functions and parts of the body

Reflexologists are trained to work the reflexes using the thumb and fingers to help the body regain and maintain function and balance (homeostasis) in a safe, non-invasive/intrusive way.

What does a treatment at Butterfly Feet Reflexology involve?

I start with a half hour consultation to explain what reflexology is and how it may work for you specifically. That includes getting information on health conditions and issues and/or medication that might contra-indicate the treatment.

If there are any areas of concern I will recommend that you check with your doctor before undertaking treatment.

Treatments usually last an hour. They include an initial massage to warm the feet up followed by work on specific reflex points – starting with the right foot and on to the left. At the end of every treatment I take you through the charted notes of discovery and offer follow up advice and answer any questions.

For optimimum results at least four consecutive treatments are recommended.

My objective is to restore body balance and get systems functioning at their optimum level. While treatments kick-start the process I also believe in empowering people to help themselves by showing them how to massage specific reflexes in between treatments.

In order to maintain a healthy lifestyle you need to start from within. Reflexology, good nutrition and exercise can enable you to obtain optimum body balance
